Chapter 4 Management Board Meeting

On 22–23 October, Chapter 4 brought together its Regional Team (HQ) and Managing Directors from across Central and South-Eastern Europe in Bratislava for its annual Management Board Meeting. Under the theme “New Currents,” the two-day meeting explored the evolving communications landscape, the agency network’s response to emerging challenges, and new opportunities for growth in the Chapter 4 markets along the Danube.

Topics included shifting market dynamics, the growing influence of AI, and the changing role of earned media in a search landscape increasingly shaped by AI-generated answers. The meeting also addressed business development, new partnerships and the agency’s strategic priorities: expanding its network, integrating AI into everyday work, and strengthening its identity. Throughout these conversations, one principle remained central to Chapter 4’s approach: local by design, regional by default.

Local agency teams shared their latest projects, client successes and market challenges, providing an opportunity to exchange insights and best practices across the region. Creativity took center stage during “The Impossible Pitch“, where mixed-country teams tackled deliberately absurd briefs, from rebranding the Danube for Gen Z to making fax machines go viral again. The winning team reimagined the Blue Danube as the “Brown Danube” to appeal to younger generations, demonstrating the value of honest communication, bold ideas and cross-market teamwork.

Looking ahead, the Chapter 4 teams explored how to build an agency ready for the AI era, with a focus on developing future leaders and planning for succession. These conversations highlighted that adapting to a changing landscape requires more than technology: strong leadership and shared expertise remain essential to long-term success.

As the communications landscape continues to evolve, Chapter 4 is ready to turn emerging challenges into opportunities through bold thinking, a strong regional network and a shared commitment to innovation.
