Croatia's popular vacation destination has been enriched by an innovation: with the Valamar Amicor Green Resort on Hvar, Valamar Riviera is focusing entirely on the sustainability tourism trend. The combination of intelligent energy concepts, a consistently ecological construction method and smart hotel technology makes it a showcase project for an environmentally friendly vacation experience in harmony with nature.
The latest edition of the Sustainable Travel Report of the global booking platform booking.com confirms the trend: 81 percent of the total of 30,000 respondents from 32 countries said that sustainable travel was important to them.
The Valamar Amicor nature resort was realized as part of the extensive investments made by Valamar Riviera in the course of its tourism repositioning on the island of Hvar. By 2025, the reconstruction and construction of three more four- and five-star hotels with a total capacity of 700 accommodation units are planned there.
Valamar Riviera is one of the leading Austrian tourism companies in Croatia, with 36 hotels and resorts and 15 camping resorts in well-known tourist destinations in Istria, on the islands of Krk, Rab and Hvar, in Makarska and Dubrovnik, and in Obertauern in Salzburg.
In 2020, Valamar Riviera won the main prize of the CSR Index, which is awarded to the most successful companies in Croatia for achievements and practices in the field of corporate social responsibility, including working environment, community relations and responsible diversity and human rights policy.
